According to customs data, China exported 30,200 tons of graphite electrodes in July 2025, up 19.29% month-on-month (MoM) and 24.77% year-on-year (YoY). From January to July 2025, total graphite electrode exports reached 204,600 tons, a 6.71% YoY increase.
Top export destinations in July 2025: UAE, Russia, Iran.

2. Needle Coke

Petroleum-based Needle Coke

In July 2025, China imported 9,000 tons, up 29.46% YoY but down 12.51% MoM. From January to July 2025, cumulative imports were 51,200 tons, down 12.60% YoY.
Major suppliers in July: UK (8,200 tons), Japan (600 tons).
Exports in July 2025 were approximately 4,359 tons.

Coal-based Needle Coke

In July 2025, imports reached 6,900 tons, up 110.02% YoY and 107.82% MoM. From January to July 2025, cumulative imports were 48,500 tons, down 5.33% YoY.
Major suppliers in July: South Korea (5,300 tons), Japan (1,600 tons).
