In December 2022, China's imports of needle coke totaled 17500 tons, an increase of 12.9% month on month, of which the imports of coal based needle coke were 10700 tons, an increase of 3.88% month on month, and the average import price was 1117.16 dollars/ton, an increase of 3.8% month on month. The import volume of oil-based needle coke was 6800 tons, an increase of 30.77% on a month-on-month basis, and the average import price was 1567.26/ton, a decrease of 5.77% on a month-on-month basis.

3. Import by country: Japan became the first import source country in December
From the perspective of import sources of needle coke in December, Japan and South Korea became the main import sources, with Japan's import volume ranking the first with 42.6%, followed by South Korea with 31.8%, and the share of the United Kingdom reduced to 23.9%.
