According to statistics from World Steel Association, global crude steel production reached 622.7 million tonnes in the first four months of 2023, down 0.3% year-on-year. Africa recorded crude steel production of 1.3 million tonnes in April, showing a 4.8% increase. The Middle East produced 4.2 million tonnes of crude steel, up 4.2% year-on-year.
