On May 29, 2022, China's graphite electrode market price was stable.

Upstream aspect, low - sulfur petroleum coke refinery price adjustment affected the market mentality. However, oil-based needle coke leading manufacturers' quotation remained at 14000-15000 yuan/ton; Northeast China calcined petroleum coke price was 11000-11500 yuan/ton, and graphite electrode enterprises' production cost remained high.

Downstream aspect, the overall steel output decreased slightly. Some enterprises reduce inventory actively, and the profits of EAFs (electric arc furnaces) steel plants rebounded. Some large EAFs that were shut down for maintenance in the early stage resumed production, and graphite electrodes demand increased slightly. Judging from the current situation, it is still difficult to realize the positive policies to boost steel market in a short term. In addition, the traditional high-temperature off-season in June is approaching, and it will still take time to restore steel market confidence.

It is expected that the short-term weak supply and demand of graphite electrode market will not change easily, and the market price will remain stable and wait-and-see.

1. RP (Regular power) graphite electrode (300mm~600mm) was 22500~25000 yuan/ton;

2. HP (High power) graphite electrode (300mm~600mm) was 24000~27000 yuan/ton;
