Rise in Prices for Petroleum Coke and Calcined Coke, while Coal Tar Pitch Prices Drop!!!

Coal Tar Pitch

In late August, there were fewer new transactions in China's coal tar pitch market, leading to some downward adjustments in prices. The mainstream accepted range is around 5000-5400 yuan/ton. With the coal tar market impacted by the decline in raw material coal tar, there is a bearish sentiment in coal tar pitch negotiations. Downstream purchasers are adopting a wait-and-see attitude, which is exerting downward pressure on prices. 

Current coal tar pitch market prices: Prices have been lowered by 200 yuan/ton in Shandong region, now at 4800 yuan/ton; 200 yuan/ton reduction in Hebei region, now at 4800 yuan/ton; 300 yuan/ton decrease in Henan region, now at 4800 yuan/ton; 250 yuan/ton drop in the northwest region, now at 5100 yuan/ton.

Petroleum Coke and Calcined Coke

HuLuDao Carbon Manufacturing Plant has increased its low-sulfur calcined coke price to 5000 yuan/ton, up by 300 yuan/ton. Dongying Qidao New Materials' calcined coke price is now 2430 yuan/ton, up by 50 yuan/ton. PetroChina Dagang Petrochemical's petroleum coke price has risen to 3390 yuan/ton, up by 230 yuan/ton. Liaoning Huajin Petrochemical's petroleum coke price is now 1690 yuan/ton, up by 10 yuan/ton. Jincheng Petrochemical's old plant petroleum coke price is 1850 yuan/ton; spherical coke's latest price is 1300 yuan/ton, up by 40 yuan/ton. Dongming Petrochemical's sponge coke's starting price in the central oil plant area is 1730 yuan/ton, up by 30 yuan/ton. Hualong Industry and Trade's sponge coke price is 1250 yuan/ton, up by 50 yuan/ton. Zhejiang Petrochemical's 4A petroleum coke is priced at 1450 yuan/ton, 4B petroleum coke at 1370 yuan/ton, and 5# petroleum coke at 1350 yuan/ton, all marking an increase of 60 yuan/ton.

Hualian Petrochemical's 2B petroleum coke is priced at 2403 yuan/ton, 3A low-vanadium coke at 2383 yuan/ton (vanadium <400), 3A high-vanadium coke at 2283 yuan/ton (vanadium >400), 3B low-vanadium coke at 2103 yuan/ton (vanadium <400), 3B high-vanadium coke at 1903 yuan/ton (vanadium >400), 3C low-vanadium coke at 1953 yuan/ton (vanadium <400), and 3C high-vanadium coke at 1753 yuan/ton (vanadium >400), all showing a 50 yuan/ton increase.

Union Petrochemical's 3B petroleum coke is priced at 2103 yuan/ton (vanadium <400), 3B petroleum coke at 1903 yuan/ton (vanadium >400), 3C petroleum coke at 1953 yuan/ton (vanadium <400), 3C petroleum coke at 1753 yuan/ton (vanadium >400), 3B-1 (S:3.0-3.5) coke at 1853 yuan/ton (vanadium <400), and 3B-1 (S:3.0-3.5) coke at 1703 yuan/ton (vanadium >400), all reflecting a 50 yuan/ton increase. Contact us for detailed price forecasts of petroleum coke market in September.
