Graphitization processing costs hit a record high, graphite electrode prices continue to rise

On November 1, the ex-factory price of petroleum coke continued to rise:

Fushun Petrochemical 1#A rose 300 yuan/ton, or 5.77%, to 5500 yuan/ton. Jinzhou Petrochemical 1#A rose 400 yuan/ton, or 8.15%, to 5100 yuan/ton. Jinxi Petrochemical 1#A rose 500 yuan/ton, or 10.64%, to 5200 yuan/ton. Dagang Petrochemical 1#A rose 300 yuan/ton, or 6.38%, to 5000 yuan/ton.  

The domestic graphite electrode market price once again set a new high since the second half of this year. On November 1, the average increase of market price reached more than 1500 yuan/ton.

At present, the supply of graphite electrode with UHP500mm and below specifications is relatively tight. The "buy when the prices are going up instead of going down" mentality makes the overall shipment situation of the market slightly better than that in the early stage. The rising raw materials and graphitization processing costs are the main reasons for the continuous rise of graphite electrode prices of late.
