What is graphitization? When carbon containing substances reach a certain high temperature, the arrangement of carbon atoms is in the micro form of graphite, so it is called graphitization. Petroleum coke products begin graphitization at more than 1700 ℃, which can reduce the content of impurities in carburant, increase the carbon content of carburant and reduce the sulfur content.

Graphitization carburant, also known as high-temperature graphitization carburant, is a graphitization carburant prepared by high-temperature graphitization treatment with petroleum coke as raw material for carburizing in iron and steel smelting and casting industry. With high carbon, low sulfur, low nitrogen, less harmful impurities, high absorption rate of excellent characteristics, is a new type of steel industry to improve the process, improve the quality of molten steel, widely used in smelting low nitrogen steel, steel cord, high strength bead wire and other steel grades. At the same time, it is also widely used in casting, brake pads, friction materials and other fields. It is especially suitable for electric furnace melting to produce castings with high added value. When casting is produced, the amount of scrap can be greatly increased, the amount of pig iron can be reduced or not used, and the absorption rate is above 90%.

Semi-graphitization carburant, also known as medium temperature graphitization carburant, is the insulating layer in the process of high temperature graphitization of graphitization furnace (Acheson). The calcination temperature is in the range of 1700-2700 ℃. It has the characteristics of high fixed carbon, fast dissolution rate, high absorption rate, moderate sulfur content and high cost performance.
